*HAPPY TEACHERS’ DAY*
Teachers’ Day is celebrated in India on September 5, every year. This day is observed to acknowledge the contribution that teachers make on the lives of their students and by extension, on society.
The profession of teaching is the one that is most revered worldwide. The Guru-Shishya relationship has a long history in India, where the Guru is regarded more than God or one's parents. In India, teachers' day is observed annually on September 5 to honour the anniversary of the birth of our second president, Dr. Sarveapalli Radhakrishnan (1962-67). Professor S. RadhaKrishnan was well-known for his academic accomplishments and was adored by his students. To mark the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, World Teachers Day is observed every year on October 5th. In 1994, UNESCO began these events to honour educators and other education professionals.
Teachers are responsible for building society. They are builders of nations. They have an effect on their students that cannot be quantified in any way. Teachers have a profound impact on their students' personalities and lives from kindergarten all the way through university, and sometimes even beyond. A excellent teacher's importance cannot ever be understated. The most unselfish of all relationships is that between a teacher and pupil since neither party asks for anything in return. They act as role models beyond the house, provide inspiration, direction, mentorship, encouragement, and support. In addition to counting their students' victories as their own, taking joy in their accomplishments, and always inspiring them to be better versions of themselves, teachers selflessly impart their knowledge and experiences to their pupils.
The value of teachers in our lives has become abundantly clear during the lockdown. Through the pandemic, our teachers have worked incredibly hard to make sure that none of their pupils experience loss as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdown(s). With online teaching and testing, teachers have forced to adapt a completely new pedagogical style.
Online learning has been used to deliver instruction from kindergarten through university. A special shout-out should be given to our teachers to let them know that their efforts are appreciated.
