World Photography Day

THE WORLD DAY OF PHOTOGRAPHY

From shooting selfies to chronicling battles, photography is a technique to retain a record of events and photos that serve as a chronicle of the past. World Photography Day is commemorated annually on August 19 to honour this genre of photography. The yearly event honours photography as a fine art and invites those who are enthusiastic about it to join together and exhibit their work. It encourages photography enthusiasts to pursue their passion as a job.

HISTORY

The earliest known instance of photography is from 1839. The Daguerreotype procedure was then announced by the French Academy of Sciences. The method enabled the creation of a highly detailed image on a copper sheet. The procedure did not use a negative and instead involved coating the sheet with a thin layer of silver. It became the first technique for making a camera image permanent.

George Eastman from Rochester, New York improved the Daguerreotype technique over 40 years later, in 1884. He substituted a dried gel on paper that he called "film" for the copper plate. Photographers no longer had to tag along with bulky copper plates and hazardous chemicals thanks to this discovery. Eastman created the Kodak camera in 1888. Thanks to the invention, almost everyone can now shoot pictures. Many people no longer use film in their cameras as a result of the rise in digital photography.

SIGNIFICAN

A photo is nothing more than a variety of feelings that are present at a specific moment in time and are exquisitely captured through the art of photography. The individual who takes the photo and those who view it might express a wide range of emotions through it. The day is incredibly important and has a special place in contemporary culture. Encouragement of young aspiring professionals and interested people to pursue photography as a hobby is the most important aspect.

Additionally, the relevance includes encouraging students to approach photography as a career. Also, photography might make for a lucrative career! Many of us aren't even familiar with all the different areas of photography. People from all over the world have seen great success in genres including animal photography, nature photography, childhood photography, and other related topics.

World Photography Day is a day set aside to honour the fine art, craft, and passion that people have for photography. The day also acknowledges how the function of the medium has changed from recording historical events to serving as a vehicle for achieving personal fulfilment and building memories .
