National Broadcasting Day

*NATIONAL BROADCASTING DAY*

The country celebrates National Broadcasting Day on July 23 each year. On this day in 1927, the Indian Broadcasting Company (IBC) organised the first radio broadcasts from a station in Bombay. All India Radio (AIR) held a symposium in New Delhi on the creation of the new India and the role of the broadcasting medium to commemorate the occasion. The Radio Club of Bombay launched radio broadcasting services in India in 1923, a time of British administration.

It's true that technology has advanced significantly, and knowledge from all around the world is now only a click away. However, the adventure began with the radio. Every year on July 23rd, "National Broadcasting Day" is observed in India to raise awareness of the value of radio. In India, radio has played a significant role in people's daily lives. The Indian Broadcasting Company of India, a private company, launched the nation's first radio broadcast from the Bombay station on this date in 1927. (IBC).

Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay, the motto of All India Radio, has come a long way. In 1927, two privately owned transmitters in Kolkata and Mumbai launched a broadcasting business. After that, in 1930, the government seized control of these transmitters. Its previous name was Indian Broadcasting Service till 1935. But in 1936, it changed its name to All India Radio, and in 1956, it adopted the name "Aakashvani."

They use medium and short wave services to reach roughly 150 different nations.

One of the biggest broadcasting institutions in the world is Prasar Bharati, an Indian public service broadcaster. Prasar Bharati has 470 broadcasting centres spread out over the nation, serving 99.19% of the people and 92.2% of the total area. Original programming for All India Radio is aired in 179 dialects and 23 languages. Through medium and short wave services, it reaches about 150 different countries. More than 1 million users have downloaded the NewsonAIR smartphone app from Prasar Bharati. You may digitally stream all of All India Radio's radio channels on this app. Radio is now accessible even through direct Internet connections. Even though we have a lot of resources now, radio is still very popular in people's hearts.

National Broadcasting Day is observed annually in India on 23 July to commemorate the first-ever radio broadcast in the country that went on air from the Bombay Station under the Indian Broadcasting Company in 1927. Read the article to know more:
